We spent the first week of May at the Hershey, PA Thousand Trails Preserve. We took a day trip and went to Hershey’s Chocolate World. Good time, no longer can you tour the factory, but it still gives you a good idea of what goes on. Cheryl and I were selected to do a taste test for the Reese’s candy bar, 40% less fat. It was good, little too sweet!
Another day we drove 90 miles to Philadelphia, to see all the history and sights. Cheryl had never been before, there is so much to do and see. Would have been nice to have 2 or 3 days to spend there instead of just the one.
We left Hershey on the 7th of May, leaving the gate at the park I hit a tree with the passenger side mirror, no damage! We spent the night at Cabalas in Wheeling, WV. The next day we drove out of WV and into Ohio and spent the night a Flying J truck stop, highlight of the day was paying $4.13 a gallon for fuel.
On the 9th of May we arrived again at the Newmar factory in Nappanee, IN. Our poor coach needs so much work, but we are still under warranty and we are sure it will all get fixed. Well then end of the month has come and we are still at the Newmar Factory, but good news, we will leave in next day or two and we get to come back for 3 to 6 weeks in July. They will pull all the doors, windows, and sides of the coach down to wall supports and start building the coach again. So I am not crazy that the coach never looked like it should. All in all not too bad, after all Newmar is still in business, for now!
We did get to park next to the Presidents of the Newmar Kountry Klub Barney and Barbara Barness, boy do they have a barking dog! If this was an RV park, they would be kicked out. Instead they are living in the Newmar parking lot, taking up a spot that others need to get work done on their coach.
