April Blog

We arrived at Forest Lake Thousand Trials Preserve on the 25th of March.  Very nice park, located in Advance, NC which is just outside of Greensboro, NC.  We stayed at the park until the 13th of April.  Cheryl arrived back in NC, from her trip to CA. on the 10th.

On the 14th we arrived in Washington DC, we stay at Cherry Hill Park.  This park could use a lot of love, and the stop they put us in we fit, but when we stepped out of the coach, we stepped into an old fire pit.  All I can say is never again and it was very expensive, but the most concerning thing was I we had just pulled up, Cheryl went into the office, and here comes some jackass trying to sell us a tour.  We did get to  see our dear friends from Canada Jerry and Glenda.  We spent the next few days seeing all the sights and enjoying all the trees in bloom.  DC is a dump!

On the 19th  we departed DC and drove about 120 miles to Gettysburg, PA.  What a beautiful place, for those that have been in past we recommend going again, the NPS has opened a new visitors center and museum.  As most of you know Cheryl and I are not museum people, but we spent most of the day in this one.  We spent 4 nights a great Passport America park Gettysburg Artillery Ridge, but sadly we had to say goodbye to our friends from the north.

On the 23rd we arrived at the Hershey, PA Thousand Trials Preserve.  We drove to Intercourse, PA to have lunch with our friends from the north, and the next day they headed for their home in Canada.  We had a relaxing week, walking around the preserve, watching the ducks, geese, and watching everyone fish in the lake.
